Systems Administrator (December 2002 to Present)
Systems administration responsibilities for approximately 400 Windows servers with primary focuses being on Exchange, Active Directory, McAfee Anti-Virus, Blackberry Enterprise Server, AppManager, and Windows operating system. Active team member in evaluating Windows 2003 Server security settings and writing the finalized security standard. Documentation of Windows 2003 Server installation steps with partial automation through Windows unattended installation features on IBM xSeries x86/x64 and Itanium servers. Primary person responsible for implementing BMC Control-SA Identity Management products on the Windows platform, and was nominated for an award by the Chief Security Officer for the work performed on the project. Other products supported or used as tools include MailMarshal, WebTrends, Citrix, SQL 2000, IIS 5/6, ArcSight, RSA Secure ID, Steel Belted RADIUS, Perl, Visual Basic, SendMail and Postfix.

Long term assignment to SEI Investments from November 1999 to December 2002. Responsible for systems administration of approximately 100 Windows servers with primary focuses being on user account administration, system maintenance and repair, Exchange, TrendMicro Anti-Virus, Commvault Systems' backup products and ARCserve. Active team member in preparing for and implementing upgrade from NT Domain to Active Directory. Active team member in preparing for and implementing upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000. Other activities include Perl scripting and disaster recovery exercises at SunGard facilities.
Work performed on a variety of short term projects from May 1999 to November 1999. Assignments included end user system upgrades, end user support and/or HelpDesk functions for Honda America, Lockheed Martin, Macy's East/Federated, MCI Worldcom, PNC Bank and SGI. Received recognition for work performed on the SGI project supporting SGI's end customers on their Intel machines by the Director of the Outsourcing Division.
Long term project assignment to Cigna from March 1998 to May 1999. Performed technical lead functions in support of Year 2000 upgrades with responsibly for up to 8 personnel depending on the size of the location. Responsible for upgrading systems or installing replacements and migration of user data to upgraded, or new, Windows 95/NT systems that were year 2000 compliant from Windows 3.1, OS/2, and non-year 2000 compliant Windows 95/NT systems. Performed installations of new Windows NT servers and migration of data from old OS/2 servers, and migrated user mailboxes from MS Mail to Exchange 5.5. Provided post migration user support of upgraded systems. Software supported included Microsoft Office, Attachmate Extra, and proprietary Cigna applications.
Work performed as hardware field service engineer from July 1997 to March 1998. Responsible for performing repairs of a variety of hardware at customer locations. Products included Compaq workstations and servers; HP, IBM, Toshiba and Macintosh desktops and laptops; and Epson, HP, IBM, Lexmark and Okidata dot-matrix, inkjet, and laser printers. Additional responsibilities included timely completion of warranty paperwork, and coordination of cross-shipments with vendors for repairs not possible in the field.
